Myrtles Plantation in Louisiana, USA is claimed to be one of the most haunted places in the world
Located in the deep American south, where the summers are warm, and the atmosphere is riddled with the spirits of overworked slaves and brutal masters, lies the Myrtles Plantation in St. Francisville, Louisiana.
If the plantation isn't sinister enough, the locals claim that the mirror that is hung inside there is cursed, and it has the spirits of Sara Woodruff and her two children who were poisoned trapped inside it.
One of the slaves placed poisonous oleander leaves into the cake and the plan was to poison Mrs. Woodruff and her children.
Tragically, the dosage was deadly, and it ended up killing Mrs. Woodruff and her two children. After word spread of the slaves actions on the plantation, the other slaves were the ones to take revenge.
Chloe (the slave who poisoned the family) was hanged by the neck, for everyone to witness, until the life was drained from her body. She was then weighed down by rocks and thrown into the Mississippi river.
