Johnathan Lewis, a primary school teacher in Liverpool, England discovered something pretty creepy inside his new home.
When the 32-year-old moved into his new property recently, one of the first things he decided to do was remove the plasterboard that a previous owner had used to seal up a space beneath the stairs.
"There was a wire coming out where the previous owners had the fridge but I didn't know where the wire was plugged in so I knocked through a bit of the plasterboard to see what was there," he said.
When Jonathan looked inside the hole, he was shocked to discover an old rag doll sitting inside the small space, wearing a pinstripe dress and clutching a small piece of paper.
After removing the small note from the dolls hand he was creeped out as the note read "Dear reader/ new home owner, thank you for freeing me!"
It then goes on to mention that her name is Emily, and she didn't like any of the family who lived there in 1961 because all they would do is sing and be happy. After deciding that the family had to go, Emily decided that stabbing was her choice of death for the previous family.
After Jonathan did a little bit of research, it became apparent that the doll was not possessed by a ghost or demonic entity.
According to the estate agent, the kitchen had only been fitted roughly five years ago, and this possibly meant that the doll had probably been placed there as a practical joke by the previous home owners.
"I'll be honest, I found the whole thing hilarious," said Jonathan. "I'd probably do the exact same thing."
